The death of Chris Gray, my brother, continues to shape and affect my life more than any other aspect. At 17 years old, I lost my 20 year old brother to a heroin overdose. It was at that young age that I would begin my grief journey. Facing adversity has become my biggest strength since. I continue to work on my emotional triggers of fear, anger, sadness, being alone, depression and anxiety.

While I think these emotions were jump started by my brothers death, it's inevitable to feel them in my profession and daily life. One thing I've learned most is that it's easiest to do this with the help of others.

I wanted to reach out to the public with my sibling grief group by providing a platform to show there's others struggling out there just like me. But I wanted to do it my way.

At the beach with surfing as a healthy outlet. It's in this environment that we create a safe, respectful circle to share amongst each other with an unfortunate common bond. The results have been incredibly powerful and healing.
